Match Report: AFC Crewe 1 v 1 Silverdale Athletic

Men's 1st Team

Goal: Mostaff Jafari (28).

Midweek games often prove more challenging for AFC Crewe, and this one was no different, as our valiant lads gave up their hard-earned first-half lead late on in the second half to slip to a 1-1 draw. This marked the team's third draw in four games; this, in addition to a loss to Brereton, means that we have now gone four games without a win.

Mostaff Jafari's goal had given those in attendance at Wood Park some hope of securing all three points, but we were sadly treated to yet another harsh lesson in this division as our failure to convert chances to goals meant that the late equaliser took two points off our boys that they definitely had enough in the tank to secure. We go again in the Leek Cup against Brereton, with a chance for revenge after that recent league defeat.

Lineup: Joe Jones (GK), Ross Avies, Mostafa Ibrahim, Daniel Ihejirika, Mostaff Jafari, Cassiun Langfield, Jordan Long, Caine Mellor, Michael Sarpong, Fortune Sibanda, Aaron Tarpey.

Subs: Aiden Brown, Daniel Millington, Jake Seddon, Gary Taylor-Fletcher, Connor Dixon.
