AFC Crewe fell to a final-day defeat to league champions Nantwich Town, who completed the season double over us - the only two losses this wonderful team sustained in what was another hugely impressive season.

Martha Atkinson scored our only goal to take us into half-time level at 1-1, but a long season and smaller squad saw our ladies fall away in the second half with goals on 55 and 71 seeing Nantwich pick up the three points. Those in attendance said it was an own goal, but the official record says it's Martha's goal, so who are we to argue...

One of the most impressive aspects of this game was the attendance - 265. That helped create a really special game between two fantastic sides and we look forward to seeing where Bev takes this team next season.
